His obituary reads : Lt-Colonel Richard Heath, who died at North Melbourne last was in his 80th year,
was a colonist of 60 years. He was a keen
yachtsman, and known as the father of the
Royal Yacht Club. He prominent in the volunteer corps, and at the end of long service he was promoted to the rank of Lieut-Colonel.
