German WW2 Afrikakorps Army Enlisted Ranks Tunic - POW Worn

A fully stripped example of a 3rd pattern army tropical tunic. This tunic has had extensive wear. All the cloth insignia has been removed including the breast eagle, shoulder straps, collar litzen etc. There are areas of replaced material to the sleeve cuffs, along the tops of the shoulders and the entire collar. All in a replaced khaki cotton drill material to try and match the existing tunic material. There are the faint remnants of the size and depot ink stamps on the inside. There are loops provisions for two breast awards.

The reason for the replacement material is more a than likely that this is a P.O.W tunic and extensively worn out during a lengthy stay as a prisoner. This would also explain the reason for the insignia being removed.

A very good example of a POW display item, or worthy of restoration.
