Royal Car Plaque for Queen Elizabeth II 1954 Royal Tour of Australia
A lovely piece of Royal history in Australia.
The hand written and applied newspaper cut out implies that this particular item is one of the actual Royal car plaques used on the the short wheel based Land Rover used by Queen Elizabeth II in her 1954 tour of Australia.
Locally manufactured in a painted plaster mold with an aluminum frame. Approx 315 mm x 410mm
Well, I have studied mini photos of the royal two vehicles used at the time I cannot see this plaque saying that I do believe that this plaque was used in the 1954 tour either on a vehicle or train. I did find several images of Qantas aircraft, fearing the queen with this exact same Royal cipher guilt on white in a rectangular plaque being used on the side of Qantas aircraft.
