An Interwar Period German Desk Ornament Bust- Military Unit Prize

A very striking image of a German soldier wearing a M16 steel helmet.The head bust known as The Hero was first sculptured during and just after WWI, it was such an impressive form that it was further cast in many different sizes and styles , even up to double life size. This example is a desk example in cast bronze measuring 225mm high in height. Zinc based alloy metal with a bronze wash on a marble base.
