Australian Pre-Federation 1897 Infantry Officers Sword
A very nice example of the pattern carried by infantry officers during the Boer War with a Sydney retailer name on the blade.
Straight broad, single fullered blade , acid etched with floral design and imperial crown. Proof mark to the ricasso as well as retailers name “ C Anderson” of “Sydney”. Voided bowl guard with a very decorative VR cipher and complete with brown leather sword knot. The ray skin wire band grip in very good condition and comes with its leather covered wooden scabbard, This complete with brown leather Sam brown frog is marked for first world war. “CGHF “ Commonwealth government harness factory.
