Australian WW2 Tobruk Souvenir Trench Art Tankard
A rare piece of trench art to one of the most iconic and important Australian battles of WW2.
Made from and Italian artillery case cut down to tankard size. 75mm x 158mm. The sides crudely but pictorially engraved with a scene of a German dive bomber diving and an exploding bomb going off and “Tobruk Aug 1941”. The handle an Italian 20mm shell case marked “BDP 40”. These artillery cases clearly souvenired from the former Italian fort of Tobruk.
Extremely rare and desirable display item. I ask you ,just how many items in your collection actually came from Tobruk?
