Royal Navy 1846 Pattern Officers Sword

A lovely bright gilt example in wonderful condition by Wilkinson Sword Company. The hilt in gilt/brass solid half basket type with the kings crowned anchor RN cartouche badge and the lion head backstrap pommel. The back edge of the guard folds down as a clip onto the scabbard locket. A blue and gold sword knot is attached to the guard. The grip is gilt wire bound over white rayskin. The slightly curved blade with a spear point has an etched floral design for half the length with a crowned anchor. The ricasso has the small brass 'approved' disc and the backstrap is numbered. The scabbard is black leather with three gilt brass fittings.

Comes with black patent leather waist belt with gilt buckle featuring a matching Kings Crown complete with duel hangers.

Also completing this set is a chamois lined black oil cloth sword storage bag. These are seldom seen man’s combined with the sword belt makes this sword absolutely complete.
