WW2 Imperial Japanese Naval Officers Sword

A good honest example of the Showa period Naval Officers Kai-Gunto sword. The bright blade with an obvious hamon line. The hilt with Showa period Naval regulation same’ binding and chrysanthemum manuki. The hilt complete with Showa naval fittings and pommel. Naval officers non void tsuba. Showa period signed tang “Tori Kane Masa” together with matching number hilt fittings. Comes with its shagreen covered wooden scabbard with Showa period Naval Officer regulation fittings and double ring belt sling rings.

Overall a good all original matching example that looks straight from grandads shed!

The same in under the hilt binding has deteriorated and gives a waxed look. This probably due to over exposure to heat in a display, this is not repairable and only marginally detracts from this fine sword.
