Named to Lt - Colonel Charles Alfred Walker Anderson who was killed in action. A privately purchased telescopic example in painted brass. The base engraved “C A W Anderson” on the base.

Previous service during the Boer War with operations Cape Colony June- Aug 1901 and in the Transvaal Dec 1901-May 1902. And operations Orange River colony Aug-Dec 1902.
Temporary Lt - Colonel Charles Alfred Walker Anderson was killed in action in France 18/9/1916 whilst Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel in command of 1st Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment.
