British Napoleonic War 1796 Pattern Officers Light Cavalry Sword
A good example of the officers pattern with leather grips. A lovely bright broad blade with "Gill is warranted" acid etched into the blade.
The words "Arthur Saltma...." are also acid etched into the blade backstrap. These are very faint but can still be seen in the right light. A possible original owner or retailer?. Certainly more research needed there.
Comes with its all steel scabbard. Missing one of the hanging rings and a screw to the treat mouth.
Overall some age tone and only very very light pitting to the scabbard.
