A good shaped example of a wartime production officers pickelhaube for the state of Prussia.

The helmet retains the original officers Prussian helmet plate which retains a lotl of its original gilt finish. Gilt rear spine , officers detachable spike and spike base securing stars. The scaled chinstraps, spike base and front peak mount are all made from the later zinc metal and the original gilt wash finish has worn away leaving the base metal exposed, this is often the case with wartime produced helmets.

the officer Reichs and Prussian state cockades still present. Helmet retains the original officers tan leather sweatband and artificial silk lining to the interior. Whilst the body is in a good original shape there is some damage to the rear peak where the stitching has come away to 50%. There is also some significant damage to the rear right hand side of the body with a large crack. Both must be mentioned of course but could certainly be overlooked when on display.

Overall a very good example of an original wartime produced helmet.
