German M98/05 Butcher Bayonet - CITO Marked
Original wooden grips , working locking stud. The blade , pommel and cross guard look to have been re-blued. Ernst Pack Sohne company who were a wholesaler of this model (private purchase side arm) between 1915-17. The company also was manufacturing the same bayonet in 1916 under the Pack Ohliger & Cie name. The manufacturer has also been argued as being “Cito” a Bicycle manufacturer of Coln.
Given that the makers mark and date has been erased it has been suggested that this was an Inter-war Weimar period production / refurbishment as issued to Police.
