Original U.S. Spanish-American War Era Army Model 1889 Summer Tropical Sun Helmet

Used extensively in the US - Spanish War in the Philippines and Cuba, this is the US version of the European Pith Helmet. Retainig a very good shape , small dent to the top left hand side but not noticeable. Four panel khaki cotton drill material over cork. The interior is lined with green fabric under the brim and with some frying to he rear, the dome lined in khaki oilcloth. The leather sweatband is still fully intact and fitted wit a nice leather chinstrap.

Overall condition is excellent, but does show staining to the exterior.
