German WW2 Luftwaffe Combined Pilot / Observer Badge
This is a nice original early textbook Luftwaffe Combined Pilot-Observer Badge (Gemeinsames Flugzeugführer- u. Beobachterabzeichen).
The Combined Pilot-Observer's badge was officially instituted by 'Hermann Göring' on 19 January 1935. The badge was to be awarded to personnel who qualified as both pilot and observer.
This badge is a nice early war textbook example made of tombac (Buntmetall). The badge is not visible maker marked but can be attributed to production by the company of the 'Friedrich Linden' from Lüdenscheid.
The badge still retains almost all of its original silver and fire gilt finish and shows very nice & pronounced detail overall, the badge is showing a nice slightly darkened age-patine and is showing polished highlights. Hand cut wing feathers. A functional pin & catch to the reverse.
