German WW2 M40 Army Single Decal Steel Combat Helmet

Army M40 pattern shell retaining near all of its original green painted finish c.1940. Single army decal to the left side rating about 85%. There is a presumably wartime light but noticeable dent to the top rear. Maker and size marked to the inside flare "NS 64" The original soldiers name hand painted to the inside back flare. Original leather liner and now fitted with a good quality reproduction leather chinstrap.

Unfortunately the previous owner of this helmet thought it wise to clean and "polish" this helmet, with particular note to the inside of the shell flare, the bottom of the aluminium liner band and the chinstrap suspension rings. Whilst not overly noticeable its worh me mentioning it.
Overall note a bad helmet at all ,well presented and getting hard to find.
