German WW2 Luftwaffe Pillot / Observer Officers Flieger Blouse
A very good service worn, textbook Luftwaffe Officers Flieger Blouse.
Luftwaffe blue -grey trikot wool with concealed front seam hiding a mismatched set of plain bakelite buttons. The flight blouse is complete with all originally-attached Luftwaffe insignia which includes epaulettes with silver braids on yellow wool base, corresponding collar patch insignia, in yellow wool, and with one gull and oakleaves spray to each for Flight section and rank for Oberleutnant.
This tunic exhibits some very appealing and matching wear only ascertainable through service wear. To the collar and down the front seam there is wear to the material edges. The silver bullion officers breast eagle also with a large amount of wear to the bullion, both probably caused by the wearing of a flight suit / life Jacket or a parachute harness over the top of the blouse.
To the lower left chest a rare cloth version of the Luftwaffe Combine Pilot/Observers Badge in silver and gilt bullion. This now with appealing and matching age tone.
Excellent early pattern officer's private purchase Fliegerbluse with curved side pockets.
As already stated this blouse remains in a well worn condition , although free from moth damage there is some light fading to the colouring of the wool and some abrasion wear. The collar insignia and shoulder boards are fresh-looking and free from oxidation. The Fully rayon lined lining is lightly soiled but intact. There has been some previous sewn repairs to the striped sleeve lining.
Overall an extremely desirable combat worn tunic.
Sold purely as an item of historical education to genuine collectors , museums and historical organizations.
