Early South Australia Police Helmet c.1902-
A rare example of the early pre- federation helmet carried over into Edwardian use. White canvas covered cork with quilted puggaree. white metal spike , chin chain and black leather chinstrap . The badge a post 1902 example with Gelphic crown. To the underside an oil cloth covering to the brim, leather sweatband and cotton lining. Retains a very good clean appearance and shape. The crown only slightly depressed at the spike base.
