Australia c.1920's -1930's Australian Army Staff Corps Officers Solar Helmet

Wolseley Pattern solar helmet. white cotton over cork with a white puggaree. Fitted with a brass detachable spike and chin chain and leather sweatband. To the front a c. 1921-1930 period Australian Staff Corps cap badge. in gilt brass and enamels. This helmet is in excellent condition. While this is unmarked it was owned and worn by General Sir Sydney Rowell. Commander of Australian troops at during the Kokoda campaign. It was likely worn by him during his time at Staff and Command college in England.


Together with its black japanned tin storage case and white calico cover bag.

Raer and in exceptional condition.
