British WW2 3rd Pattern Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife
A very good example of the 3rd pattern fighting knife introduced in 1942.
Distinguishable by the "3" number cast into the brass pommel. The cross guard stamped "ENGLAND". This is a very common marking found on wartime made F-S knives. This was done to satisfy U.S customs importation laws. The mark simply indicates that this particular knife belonged to the large shipment of 167,000 F-S knives that were exported to the U.S.A shortly after the war as part payment for the wartime financial support given to the U.K by the U.S and marked the country of origin when imported.
Lovely undamaged parkerised blade.
Comes with its matching brown leather sheath also stamped "ENGLAND".
Overall a fantastic example in very good condition.
Licence is required in Victoria.
