Australian WW2 RAAF Officers Solar Helmet

A good example of the pattern worn during the 1930’s and throughout WW2. Khaki cotton covered cork with an officers flash to the side of the Puggaree. Leather sweatband and khaki cotton lined interior with Melbourne makers label ink stamp. Has brown leather chinstrap. Retaining a very good shape with no damage or depression to the cork. Overall light soiling consummate with age and storage. read more

A very nice example of the “Tank Helmet”. Olive drab green vulcanized fiber shell with natural leather liner maker marked “Sears Saddlery”. This example complete with HS-23 Headset communications and a good set of Polaroid Type 1021 All Purpose Goggles with rubber frame and khaki web head strap.
