A good example of the “Polo style” pattern. Horizon blue wool with subdued braid rank band for a “Sous-Lieutenant” and a Hungarian quarter foil knot to the top. The chinstrap also in the same semi fine wool. Missing one of the chinstrap buttons on one side. Black leather visor and oilcloth lining.

Wide60 mm light brown leather officer’s waist belt. Grey zinc alloy double claw buckle. Provision for cross strap. Berlin maker marked and dated 1942 on the reverse of the buckle. An original case of issue c.WW1 or WW2 period.
Composed of wood and purple leatherette, exterior presents an impressed kings crown on the top in gilt, the interior is composed a crème coloured silk lid with a velvet medalbed, measures 75.19mm (w) x 128.52mm (h), 20.08mm (d), hinge and clasp functional. The lid now with extended light exposure and now with a pinkish colour tone.
