Black Japanned tin storage tine with a maroon velvet padded interior. Used to store a pair of dress Epaulettes. A Queen Victorian crown distributor label to the lid for Matthew’s and Co, Portsea. The brass name cartouche engraved to “C E Eldred”.

Good example of the Australian made Pattern 1907. A heavily blued blade with makers marks for the Lithgow factory annex at Orange. Issue date 9/42. Has original wooden grips and working locking stud. The blade with some usual age stain. Has numerous proof and issue stampings dates and look to be dated 1882 and a reissue in 1901.
