A significant date and capture of Damascus in the Middle East , this highly decorated German 77 mm artillery shell case is engraved and inlaid with silver Arabic patterns and wording. Engraved around the base is “Damascus 1st Oct 1918.”The base marked Krupp. The vase is lead weighted in the bottom to prevent it from knocking over.
