Australia 1920’s Private Purchase Solar Helmet by Hordern of Sydney

A really nice example of a privately purchased pith helmet. Khaki cotton over cork with a matching multi-fold Puggaree. No dents of soft sections to the body.

Black Japanned tin storage tine with a maroon velvet padded interior. Used to store a pair of dress Epaulettes. A Queen Victorian crown distributor label to the lid for Matthew’s and Co, Portsea. The brass name cartouche engraved to “C E Eldred”.
